Square one and the morning after

So, last night in Jacksonville, Florida was the artwalk. I don't recall looking at much art, but I did find a few moments to observe some characters drinking and socializing at Square One! Here, we have an older gentlemen trying in vain to pick up a young woman in the seated area outside, as well as a quick sketch of a couple inside at the bar (which only served Peroni this particular night, thanks to the distributor who paid the bar, therefore depriving me of my power Guinness).

The morning after, I had breakfast at Cool Moose in Riverside, where I did this fun diner sketch of a man siting outside.
These have some potential to be turned into woodblocks or etchings, I think.

Everyday Sinister!

Introducing the Everyday Sinister!

This woodcut was done for the "Everyday Sinister" Halloween Bellydance show for Samadhi  Alternative Dance CO. In Jacksonville, Florida. It stands 13" wide by 24" tall and has been printed on cheapo paper to spread around the city, as well as Arches BFK.  This is my first print as a poster design and I learned many things... most importantly: LEARN SILKSCREEN!
Seriously, it took 15 minutes just to re-ink the block between prints, not to mention the hours of carving, when this could have easily been drawn and photo-transferred onto the screen. Ah well, I like pickup in this print, anyways... enjoy! -Charles
